Job Description: The Plumbing Install Manager is responsible for leading the Plumbing Installation Department, ensuring operational excellence, labor efficiency, quality control, and profitability across all installation projects, including Add-on & Replacement, Remodel, and New Construction.

Requirements

4+ years as a Plumber (Journeyman) with experience in installation, add on or replacement, new construction.
Idaho Journeyman's license
Valid driver’s license
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Must be comfortable sitting at an office and standing for extended periods of time.
The work environment will be both in office and out in the field in case supervision is necessary for a job.
Good communication and customer service skills
Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical work

Responsibilities

Department Leadership & Management Provide overall leadership for the Plumbing Installation department.
Lead, coach, and develop plumbing installers, journeymen, apprentices, and field leadership.
Communicate department goals, expectations, and key focus areas clearly and consistently to install teams.
Provide training strategies, leadership techniques, and operational direction to ensure teams perform effectively and efficiently.
Ensure alignment with company culture, values, and customer service standards.
Recruit, hire, and develop journeyman plumbers and apprentices to meet installation demand from AOR Sales and General Contractor work.
Pricing, Profitability & Financial Performance Own and manage gross profit margins for all plumbing installation projects.
Ensure labor is managed according to job budgets and estimated labor hours.
Actively manage labor efficiency to maintain alignment with quoted labor costs.
Work closely with the General Manager of Production regarding margin targets and required pricing or labor adjustments.
Manage job costing and project performance to ensure profitability expectations are met.
Install Operations & Job Execution Provide leadership and oversight for all plumbing installation operations.
Ensure jobs are properly scheduled, staffed, and executed.
Collaborate with the Installation Coordinator to maintain accurate production calendars and scheduling.
Ensure all required permits and inspections are secured prior to job start.
Ensure accurate entry of materials into Service Titan for purchase order creation and material procurement.
Ensure materials are staged, loaded, or delivered to the job site each morning by warehouse and delivery teams.
Ensure install teams' clock in and depart directly for job sites with all required materials.
Minimize unbillable time (shop, warehouse, drive, nonproductive activities) to support labor efficiency and profitability.
Ensure material is preloaded or delivered directly to job sites via the delivery team.
Ensure job execution meets Western standards for quality, efficiency, and customer experience.
Quality Control, Warranty & Callbacks Oversee all quality control processes for plumbing installations.
Monitor and manage red tags, failed inspections, warranty work, and callbacks.
Identify root causes of quality issues and implement corrective action plans.
Provide coaching and training to reduce rework and enhance workmanship.
Ensure all work meets code, inspection requirements, and Western quality standards.
Estimating, Project Management & General Contractor (GC) Work Provide estimating and project management for plumbing remodels and new construction projects.
Manage General Contractor relationships and job execution for remodeling and new construction plumbing work.
Ensure material lists are accurate and coordinate changes with AOR Sales.
Manage job schedules, execution, and project closeouts.
Manage gross profit margins for remodeling and new construction projects.
Partner with the General Manager of Production on necessary pricing or scope adjustments.
Inventory, Purchasing & Warehouse Coordination Enforce SOPs related to inventory, truck stock, and material handling.
Ensure install teams properly utilize the delivery team and inventory processes.
Work closely with the purchasing and warehouse manager to ensure correct items are stocked.
Ensure trucks are loaded correctly, and inventory is maintained.
Partner with purchasing and warehouse teams to control material costs and maximize profitability.
Ensure shared processes support increased billable hours and gross profit per manhour.
Process, Accountability & Continuous Improvement Ensure the Plumbing Installation Department follows all SOPs and operational workflows.
Partner with Sales, Service, Purchasing, and Warehouse leadership for effective job execution.
Identify operational gaps and implement corrective actions.
Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance quality, efficiency, scalability, and profitability.
