What You’ll Do In this role, you’ll be the go-to expert in the field: Conduct inspections on commercial and residential plumbing systems for new construction, remodels, and renovations Ensure compliance with local and state plumbing codes Work directly with contractors, designers, and property owners to explain requirements and resolve violations Investigate complaints and troubleshoot plumbing-related issues Document inspections, prepare detailed reports, and track compliance Perform follow-up inspections to verify corrections Interpret and apply plumbing codes with confidence and sound judgment You’ve been in the trade—you know what quality work looks like: High School Diploma or GED 8+ years of experience in the plumbing trade Valid Indiana Plumbing License and Allen County Contractor License (or equivalent) Strong understanding of plumbing systems, installation practices, and code requirements Ability to clearly communicate technical information to contractors and the public Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office and reporting tools) Basic math and measurement skills Valid Driver’s License What Makes You Stand Out You take pride in precision and doing things the right way You can hold contractors accountable while still building strong working relationships You’re confident making judgment calls in the field You can break down complex code requirements into real-world conversations What to Expect This role keeps you moving and engaged: Field inspections in a variety of environments and weather conditions Active construction sites with typical physical demands (climbing, bending, lifting, walking uneven terrain) Detailed reporting and documentation responsibilities On-call availability for two weeks per year Why Allen County?
