About The Position

Under the direction of the Plumbing Craft Superintendent, the Plumbing Foreman oversees and supervises the installation, repair, and maintenance of plumbing systems in commercial, or industrial settings. This role involves coordinating the work of plumbing crews, ensuring that projects are completed on time, within budget, and according to safety standards and codes. The Plumbing Foreman also ensures that quality control standards are maintained and that all plumbing work is performed in accordance with local building codes

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of plumbing experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or foreman role.
  • Valid plumbing license (as required by state or local regulations). CPR and First Aid certification is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of plumbing systems, including installation, repair, and maintenance procedures. Proficient in reading blueprints, drawings, and technical documents.
  • Proven leadership abilities with experience managing teams, delegating tasks, and resolving conflicts.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact with clients, team members, and management.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex plumbing issues in a timely and effective manner.
  • Ability to work in physically demanding conditions and lift heavy materials and equipment.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in specialized plumbing services (e.g., gas systems, water treatment, medical/lab gas).
  • Knowledge of advanced plumbing technologies and green energy systems.
  • OSHA-30 and other applicable safety certifications.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, supervise, and manage a team of plumbers and apprentices.
  • Assign tasks, ensure they are completed efficiently, and maintain a high level of quality.
  • Provide training, guidance, and support to less experienced plumbers and apprentices.
  • Foster a positive work environment and encourage teamwork.
  • Plan, organize, and monitor daily work activities for the plumbing crew.
  • Ensure that all plumbing systems are installed, repaired, or maintained according to project plans, specifications, and applicable codes.
  • Manage job site logistics, materials, tools, and equipment.
  • Ensure that projects are completed on time and within budget.
  • Perform regular inspections of work to ensure compliance with plumbing codes, safety regulations, and quality standards.
  • Enforce workplace safety policies and ensure the team follow safe work practices.
  • Identify and resolve any quality issues or potential hazards on the job site.
  • Communicate effectively with project managers, clients, and other trades to ensure smooth workflow and resolve any issues.
  • Provide progress updates and report any issues that may impact project timelines or costs.
  • Keep accurate records of work performed, materials used, and any incidents or accidents that occur on the job site.
  • Ensure that plumbing materials and equipment are ordered and delivered on time for the job.
  • Maintain an inventory of tools and materials to ensure they are in good working condition.
  • Provide technical guidance and troubleshooting for complex plumbing systems or issues.
  • Develop solutions to challenges or problems that arise on the job site.
