HEAPY is seeking a Senior-Level Plumbing/Fire Protection Designer to join our Colleague First culture in our Tampa office location in a hybrid arrangement. SUMMARY This colleague independently performs a variety of assignments involving the application of standard plumbing and fire protection design engineering techniques for a small project or selected segments of a larger project. The incumbent must be capable of exercising independent judgment in evaluating, selecting, and applying standard design engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria to make minor design adaptations and modifications. This role requires the colleague to set assignments that have clear and specific objectives and require the investigation of a limited number of variables. QUALIFICATIONS This role normally requires a 4-year engineering degree from an ABET-accredited program and typically 6 - 9 years of related experience (or equivalent working knowledge/experience/advanced degree in engineering) related to plumbing engineering systems in the Built Environment. This includes considerable experience in utilizing various computer software packages and automated engineering and design equipment. An incumbent in this position should be in possession of a Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) Certification and be working toward Professional Engineering (PE) Registration or Certified Plumbing Designer (CPD) designation. This position should also be in possession of or be working toward an ASSE6060 Medical Gas Designer Certification. These certifications can also be attained within the first year of coming on board at HEAPY.
