About The Position
As a Plumbing Engineering Intern at Arup, you will have the opportunity to engage in the design of Plumbing and Fire Protection systems within the built environment, with a strong emphasis on sustainable design practices. This role is ideal for individuals who are passionate about the built environment and are eager to contribute to socially useful work that has meaning. You will support the design of various plumbing systems, including domestic water, sanitary/vent, and storm systems, as well as fire protection systems such as fire sprinkler and standpipe systems. Collaboration is key in this position, as you will work closely with clients, architects, engineers, and consultants to develop integrated solutions for complex buildings. You will undertake and document engineering analysis work, which includes conducting code research, performing load calculations, and sizing equipment in a clear and organized manner. Additionally, you will document system designs using Revit MEP and communicate technical ideas to a diverse audience through presentations and workshops. Writing reports that detail calculation methods, design assumptions, and other technical information will also be part of your responsibilities. The role requires strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize effectively in a dynamic environment. You will have the chance to influence sustainable outcomes for clients, aligning with Arup's commitment to sustainability. Furthermore, you will assist in construction administration activities, which may include site visits and submittal reviews.
