About The Position

The Plumbing Designer at Arora Engineers, Inc. will be responsible for ensuring high-quality plumbing design work in the Chadds Ford, PA or Philadelphia, PA office. This role involves collaborating with the Plumbing Discipline Lead and managing various aspects of plumbing design projects, including code compliance, project estimation, and client interactions.

Requirements

  • Proficient in MS Office, especially Word and Excel.
  • Proficient in BlueBeam, AutoCAD, and REVIT MEP.
  • Understanding of underlying principles of the A/E industry, including design/build.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple project deadlines.
  • Detail and safety-oriented with excellent written and spoken English skills.
  • Ability to create and maintain productive relationships with employees, clients, and vendors.
  • BS in Mechanical Engineering or related technical school training and experience.
  • 3 - 7 years of experience in plumbing design.
  • EIT or CPD preferred.
  • Valid state driver's license and ability to maintain a safe driving record.

  • Experience with project management software.
  • Knowledge of sustainable plumbing practices.

Responsibilities

  • Review drawings and technical specifications from vendors, clients, and internal professionals, recommending necessary changes.
  • Contribute to project estimation, planning, and construction feasibility.
  • Perform plumbing design calculations for domestic water, storm, compressed air, natural gas, and similar technical work.
  • Ensure correct code references are used for each project by researching codes and resolving related issues.
  • Act as a liaison between city, state, and county officials, the company, and clients to ensure design coordination.
  • Develop design drawings and provide advisory information during the construction phase.
  • Perform site surveys and contribute to engineering studies as needed.
  • Write survey assessment reports and document existing building conditions accurately.
  • Attend and contribute to client and departmental meetings.
  • Manage projects focusing on exceptional quality while ensuring scope, schedule, and budget are met.
  • Assist in preparing project proposals.
