About the position

As a plumber, you will oversee inmate crews, maintain tools and equipment, and handle preventative maintenance of all plumbing fixtures at the Arizona State Prison Complex - Phoenix. Your tasks include cleaning sewer drains, repairing plumbing fixtures, and conducting general maintenance.

Responsibilities

  • Cleans small and large sewer drains along with repairing toilets, sinks, faucets, water heaters, and boilers
  • Installs plumbing fixtures, plumbing drains, and water lines
  • Conducts general maintenance as instructed by supervisors
  • Drives on State business
  • Performs other duties appropriate to the assignment

Requirements

  • One (1) year of journeyman-level plumbing experience
  • Knowledge of general building and preventative maintenance
  • Knowledge of water heaters, water softeners, water boilers, drainage, waste systems, backflows, and plumbing tools/equipment
  • Knowledge of national and local building codes and safety practices
  • Knowledge of commercial gas lines
  • Knowledge of basic blueprints
  • Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office and Google Suites to create reports, charts, and research
