About The Position

The Plumber is responsible to construct, install, repair structures and/or fixtures, and maintain and repair plumbing and heating systems while using plumber's hand tools and power tools as well as general maintenance and repair of facility areas, cleaning and safety of all guest and employee areas as well as parking lot, grounds and adjacent lots to include any off-property site used by the company. This is a journeyman level position where work involves performance of skilled plumbing tasks in maintaining, repairing and servicing a variety of fixtures and equipment. This position supports operations in ensuring use-ready and compliant facilities and utilities, including troubleshooting, completion of preventive maintenance, and the completion of computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) related documentation. The Plumber provides feedback and recommendations to management on relevant topics including the planning of maintenance work, project management tasks, and the investigation and resolution of unusual situations.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • High School diploma or equivalent, preferred.
  • Minimum Four (4) years of experience in plumbing, including completion of an approved apprenticeship program or equivalent evidence of journey level status.
  • Must be able to lift 30 pounds.
  • Any combination of education beyond the minimum requirement as well as any experience and training that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary will be considered.
  • Ability to work as part of a team, and independently.
  • Must be able to provide evidence of eligibility to work in the United States of America.
  • Must possess a valid California Driver’s License with clean driving record (less than 3 points).
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a valid Soboba Tribal Gaming Commission license.
  • Required to submit to and obtain negative results on all drug and/or alcohol testing.

Nice To Haves

  • An Associate of Arts or Certificate of Arts Degree in Plumbing from an accredited community college may be substituted for two years of the required experience.

Responsibilities

  • Perform, as part of a team, a wide variety of tasks to maintain facility in a best in class for guest experience. Interface with customers, vendors, and team members in support of facility initiatives, work request completion, or other duties as assigned in a professional and team-oriented manner.
  • Conduct routine, periodic, or special inspections to determine repair and maintenance work necessary to prevent breakdowns of facilities, machinery, and equipment.
  • Utilize positive communication and interpersonal skills with guests, (internal and external), at all times.
  • Assist the Facilities department in the maintenance, repair, cleaning, and safety of all guest and employee areas, as well as, parking lot, grounds, and adjacent lots to include any off-property site used by the company.
  • Study specifications in blueprints, sketches or building plans to prepare project layout and determine dimensions and materials required.
  • Ensure work is inspected upon completion for conformity to instructions, code, and quality of craftsmanship.
  • Unclog commodes, urinals, lavatories, and sewer lines; repair/replace fixtures/parts sewer lines as necessary; connect new fixtures to existing water supply lines; replace leaky and corroded pipes.
  • Installs new water lines/drain lines/vents and connect to existing plumbing fixtures.
  • Operate plumbing equipment such as roto-rooters, forklifts, jack hammers, pipe threaders/locators, torches, backhoes, and front-end loaders.
  • Service and maintain space heaters, water heaters, water softener, and grease traps.
  • Repair/replace irrigation parts for lawns; inspect/repair backflow preventers.
  • Repair, replace, or remove damaged, defective parts or sections of structures.
  • Keep supervisor informed of potential problems or unusual events.
  • Assist with requisitions, provides estimates/specifications for supplies and materials necessary to complete projects.
  • Follow established safety rules, regulations, and maintain a safe, clean work environment.
  • Must be physically present to work a regular, reliable, and predictable work schedule in accordance with business demands, and maintain a consistent and regular attendance record.
