About The Position

Assembles, installs and repairs pipes, fittings and fixtures relative to heating, water, and drainage systems while adhering to company policies and procedures.

Requirements

• Ability to use hand and power tools, safely and efficiently
• Must be able to troubleshoot equipment using a schematic, diagram (prints), or construction blueprints
• Experience in all aspects of building maintenance including plumbing, electrical, carpentry and refrigeration
• Strong mathematical skills (i.e., geometry, calculations, etc)
• High School diploma or GED required.
• Minimum two (2) – four (4) years plumbing experience required.

Nice To Haves

• Formal trade school or demonstrated practical application of plumbing concepts is preferred.
• Plumbing certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs all duties consistent with specifications and per plumbing codes
• Assembles pipe sections, tubing and fittings using couplings, clamps, screws, bolts, cement, plastic solvent, caulking, or soldering, brazing and welding equipment
• Cuts openings in structured to accommodate pipe fittings using hand and power tools
• Installs pipe assemblies, fittings, valves, appliances (dishwashers, water heaters, etc), fixtures (silks and toilets) using hand and power tools
• Installs underground storm, sanitary and water piping systems and extend piping to connect fixtures and plumbing to said systems
• Measures, cuts, threads, and bends pipe to required angle, using hand and power tools of machines such as pipe cutters, pipe-threading machines, and pipe-bending machines
• Repairs and maintains plumbing, replaces defective washers, replaces or mends broken pipes and unclogs drains
• Hangs steel supports from ceiling joists to hold pipes in place
• Identifies electrical, plumbing and safety problems applicable to the installation and takes necessary corrective action
• Follows all PME safety policies and reports unsafe work conditions immediately and prior to the commencement of any work
• Must hold a valid state of WA drivers license
• Will assist the Engineering Department personnel as necessary to insure workflow
• Perform other job related duties as assigned
