About The Position

Duties 1. Installs, maintains, and repairs chilled water, steam, heat, and gas fixtures. 2. Inspects, maintains, and repairs hot water and steam boilers and gas furnaces. 3. Reads gas and safety control valves and meters. 4. Troubleshoots, repairs, and/or replaces faucets, major and minor water, gas and sewer lines. 5. Cleans, repairs, and/or replaces manholes. 6. Installs, maintains, and repairs thermostats, motors, and belts. 7. Inspects boilers to ensure water levels and pressures are in accordance with standards, and performs minor electrical work on boilers including safety switches, pilot thermocouples, and/or gas regulators. 8. Installs filter systems. 9. Operates a variety of heavy equipment to trench water, gas, and sewer lines to construct and/or repair lines. 10. Follows all required safety measures and uses protective gear as needed to prevent injury to self and others. 11. Solders copper lines. 12. Performs other duties as assigned.
