About The Position

Keep Honolulu's facilities running smoothly - join our team as a Plumber! TheDepartment of Facility Maintenance,Public Building and Electrical Maintenance Division andDepartment of Parks and Recreation, Maintenance Support Division are both hiring for a Plumberin Honolulu. What You Will Do: Install, maintain, and repair water, sewer, gas, drainage, and plumbing systems in City buildings, park facilities, and related infrastructure. Perform skilled plumbing work on fixtures such as water heaters, pumps, coolers, toilets, sinks, urinals, rain gutters, downspouts, and irrigation systems. Conduct preventive maintenance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure systems are safe, functional, and compliant with codes. Read and interpret blueprints, work orders, and plans; estimate materials, time, and labor; maintain accurate records of completed work. Support other trades, assist with projects and events, and respond to emergency or disaster-related plumbing needs. Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned for the position. Requirements

  • At time of application, you must be a citizen, national or permanent resident alien of the United States or a non-citizen eligible under federal law for unrestricted employment.
  • Experience and/or training of sufficient scope and quality tocompetently perform the journey-level skills and duties of a Plumber.
  • This experience must demonstrate skill in installing, maintaining, and repairing water, gas, sewer, and drainage systems and accessory fittings in buildings and related structures, and the ability to plan and lay out plumbing work independently.
  • Valid Hawaii State journey-level plumber's certificate of registration.
  • Hawai'i State Type 3 Driver's License prior to appointment.
