  • Cleans small and large sewer drains and repairs toilets, sinks, faucets, water heaters, and boilers
  • Installs plumbing fixtures, plumbing drains, and water lines
  • Conducts general maintenance as instructed by supervisors
  • Drives on State business
  • Performs other duties appropriate to the assignment
  • Knowledge of general building and preventative maintenance
  • Knowledge of water heaters, water softeners, water boilers, drainage, waste systems, backflows, and plumbing tools/equipment
  • Knowledge of National and local building codes and safety practices
  • Knowledge of commercial gas lines
  • Knowledge of basic blueprints
  • Knowledge of basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office and Google Suites, to create reports, charts, and research
  • Skill in written and verbal communication
  • Skill in scheduling of maintenance repairs and preventive maintenance programs for the facility
  • Skill in time management and organizational techniques/methods
  • Skill in establishing and maintaining interpersonal and employee relationships within all organizational levels

  • Employment is contingent on the selected applicant passing a background investigation, drug test, and a medical/physical examination.
  • Any employee operating a motor vehicle on State business must possess and retain a current, valid class-appropriate driver's license, complete all required training, and successfully pass all necessary driver's license record checks. The license must be current, unexpired, and neither revoked nor suspended. Employees who drive on state business are subject to driver's license record checks, must maintain acceptable driving records, and must complete all required driver training. An employee who operates a personally owned vehicle on state business shall maintain the statutorily required liability insurance (see Arizona Administrative Code (A.A.C.) R2-10-207.11).
  • All employees are required to take a Tuberculosis (TB) test during their New Employee Orientation and every year thereafter.
