About The Position

Position is responsible for performs repairs and maintenance within the buildings and grounds department of a correctional facility, including electrical systems, plumbing and mechanical and related structural systems. Supervises and assigns work to inmate crews and other related crews. Inspects building and grounds and provides preventative maintenance. Performs scheduled TMS work orders and documents work performed.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Considerable knowledge of corrective maintenance, installation, repair, and preventive maintenance related to plumbing/steam-fitting.
• Demonstrated skill in the use of tools and supplies related to the trade.
• Demonstrated ability to keep narrative and statistical records relating to the maintenance and repair of equipment.

Nice To Haves

• Demonstrated ability to lead and supervise the work of others.
• Demonstrated ability to interpret blueprints, schematics, and mechanical drawings.
• Skilled in the use of Microsoft Office Programs and Outlook or preventative maintenance programs.
• Completion from vocational/technical school, completion of apprenticeship and/or sufficient on-the-job training (OJT) in trade activities.
• Demonstrated ability to interpret blueprints, schematics, and mechanical drawings.
• Multiple trades' experience.
