The company's core values—Execute, Protect, Improve, and Character—guide all their work. Moore's is seeking a Plumber/Pipefitter to join its Special Projects team in Northern Virginia. This role involves installing, assembling, fabricating, maintaining, and repairing mechanical piping systems, utilizing various materials such as steel, copper, and plastic in commercial environments. The company explicitly states that it does not operate in DC or Maryland.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Proven experience as a Plumber/Pipefitter or in a similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of pipe fitting techniques and procedures.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documents and blueprints.
  • Proficiency with hand and power tools used in the trade.
  • Ability to fit carbon steel pipe.
  • Ability to solder copper pipe.
  • Ability to install screw pipe and victaulic pipe.
  • Physical ability to lift heavy materials, work in various settings, including confined spaces, working at heights, and in adverse weather conditions.
  • Valid driver's license with an insurable driving record.
  • Must pass a drug screen and background check.

Nice To Haves

  • Med Gas Certification is a plus.
  • Backflow Certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Install, repair, and maintain pipes, fixtures, and other plumbing equipment.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and building codes.
  • Plan piping system layouts, installations, or repairs according to specifications.
  • Cut, thread, and bend pipes to required angles.
  • Assemble and install valves, pipe fittings, and pipes composed of various materials.
  • Test piping systems for leaks using pressure gauges and other testing equipment.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve plumbing issues.
  • Maintain equipment, tools, and inventory stock on company service vehicle.
  • Safely drives company vehicle, follows requirements of company vehicle driving policy and adheres to all safety requirements.
