Job Summary Performs skilled plumbing work in the construction, maintenance and repair of the hospital's plumbing, sprinkling, hot water, and dialysis and dialysis R.O. systems and their related components using various hand and power tools. Work guides will be blueprints, specifications, schematics, written or oral instructions and applicable codes in compliance with Joint Commission and NFPA 101 Life Safety Code and all other applicable NFPA standards. The employee is subject to the usual hazards of plumbing work and is expected to apply appropriate safety precautions. The work is performed under the general supervision of the Facilities Manager and is evaluated by observation, inspections and the operational efficiency of systems and equipment.

Requirements

  • 2 years plumbing experience
  • Valid CT Plumbing license
  • Working knowledge of hazards and accident prevention
  • Comply with OSHA standard for hot work
  • Ability to read blueprints, schematics and plumbing diagrams
