Maintain the flow and drainage of water, air, and other gases by assembling, installing, and repairing pipes, fittings, and plumbing fixtures for the district. Maintain and provide for the safe condition and operation of all plumbing systems in district facilities. Essential Functions 1. Assemble, install, and repair pipes, fittings, and fixtures of heating, water, drainage, sprinkler, and gas systems according to specifications and plumbing codes. Perform pressure tests as needed. 2. Determine sources of plumbing malfunctions and complete repairs on buildings, grounds, and equipment. 3. Receive, prioritize, and complete work orders in a timely manner; allow time for emergency situations as needed. 4. Select material and hardware and make time and material estimates. Maintain accurate records on material and labor used. 5. Maintain inventory of district-owned tools, equipment, and materials. Perform preventive maintenance on tools and equipment. Ensure that equipment is in safe operating condition. 6. Inspect jobs upon completion and ensure areas are clean. 7. Follow established safety procedures and techniques to perform job duties including lifting, climbing, operating a district vehicle, tools, and equipment, etc. 8. Correct unsafe conditions in work area and report any conditions that are not correctable to supervisor immediately. 9. Conduct preventive maintenance on all plumbing equipment and fixtures. 10. Responsible for assuring jobs meet code compliance. 11. Attendance at the work site is required to meet essential functions of the job. Other Responsibilities 1. Make routine decisions under general supervision in accordance with established priorities and policies. 2. Participate in professional development activities as required by the district. 3. Follow established safety procedures to perform job duties; support district/department goals. 4. Maintain a professional code of ethics and perform other duties as assigned.
