Requirements

  • Licensed Plumber, Required
  • Valid Driver License, Required
  • 2 years post high school vocational/ specialized training - 3 years related work experience, Required
  • Required Skills: Critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.

Responsibilities

  • Inspects, installs, repairs and replaces pipes, fittings and plumbing fixtures to maintain the heating, water, gas and drainage systems of hospital facilities.
  • Installs, repairs, and maintains plant plumbing systems including domestic hot and cold water, sewer and drain systems, and their related equipment, devices, and fixtures.
  • Installs, repairs, and maintains other plumbing related systems including hydronic and steam heating systems, chilled water-cooling systems, lawn sprinkler systems and their related equipment, devices and fixtures.
  • Installs, repairs, and maintains specialty systems including RO and de-ionized water systems, medical gas systems, fire protection systems and their related equipment, devices and fixtures.
  • Troubleshoot problems in plumbing and mechanical equipment and systems.
  • Assembles, installs, repairs and maintains other various Mechanical systems and equipment.
  • Assists and acts as a resource for other maintenance staff with regard to mechanical and plumbing problems and issues
  • Reads, interprets and utilizes blueprints and schematics as required for job performance.
  • Utilizes applicable plumbing, mechanical and building codes.
  • Maintains records, logs, and files as required.
  • Assumes the role of charge person when requested.
  • Assist with orientation and training of personnel and students.
  • Participates and attends meetings as required and/ or assigned.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.
