About The Position
The Kentucky Department of Corrections (DOC), Division of Adult Institutions operates 13 correctional facilities that house Kentucky's adult inmate population. The mission of DOC is to protect the citizens of the Commonwealth and to provide a safe, secure and humane environment for staff and offenders in carrying out the mandates of the legislative and judicial processes; and, to provide opportunities for offenders to acquire skills which facilitate non-criminal behavior. The Plumber Licensed Supervisor at Green River Correctional Complex performs the duties of a Master Plumber as well as provides supervision over employees and inmates. This job requires an individual licensed as a Master Plumber by the Department of Housing, Buildings, and Construction. Applicants should possess the ability to apply plumbing skills and instruct inmates in the completion of plumbing tasks and the operation of plumbing tools and equipment. The occupant of this position will use proficient trouble-shooting skills to address a variety of plumbing repairs and new installations as well as sufficient computer skills required to address institutional work orders.
