About The Position

Job Summary Responsible for accomplishing all required service and maintenance, scheduled or unscheduled, relating to medical and control air compressors, medical vacuum systems, plumbing systems and welding/fabrication and overhaul functions. Documents all work as required. Responsible for supply and tool room inventory. Assists in controlling costs in these areas and develops operating procedures to control inventory and ensure critical tools and materials are available at all times. Oversees the work of other personnel by training, delegating, and monitoring work. Performs work of a similar nature. Inspects work of contractors working on systems in this area and reports problems to the Manager or Director. Ensures completion of work, solves problems, and demonstrates the ability to respond effectively in emergency situations. Maintains and repairs equipment and systems to include plumbing and sewer piping, medical gases, domestic hot and cold water, control air systems. Performs and designs repairs in metal fabrication and welding functions. Completes scheduled tests to comply with Joint Commission, DPH, and other standards. Performs preventive maintenance on assigned equipment and records appropriately. Detects repairs necessary and implements work orders to initiate repair. Recommends changes to the preventative maintenance system such as additions, deletions and frequency changes to Manager or Director. Ensures adequate level of supplies, materials, and equipment are on hand to make repairs to assigned equipment. Assists with the inventory management operations of the supply room. Ensures proper inventory is maintained and secured. Regularly reviews inventory with other craft leaders. Responsible for the management of department tool crib. Implements and monitors procedures for inventory and control tools. Responds to personnel issues in a timely manner. Works with Manager to resolve employee problems, misconduct, or violations of company policy or Engineering operating procedures. Assists with the completion of employee evaluations ensuring fair, accurate, and timely completion. Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent OR post-high school diploma/highest degree earned
  • Ten (10) years of welding, fabrication, plumbing, and/or air compressor experience.
  • In Lieu Of In lieu of education and experience requirements noted above, five (5) years of experience with a Master Plumber may be considered.
  • Basic computer skills
  • Knowledge of office equipment (fax/copier)
  • Mathematical skills
  • Effective at data conversion

Nice To Haves

  • Backflow Certification preferred
  • Medical Gas Installation Certification preferred
  • Plumbing License preferred
