Plumber (Golf Course Irrigation)

About the position

This position is Non-appropriated Fund (NAF) and will be assigned to the Moose Run Golf Course on Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson, AK. This is a Seasonal position Not-To-Exceed 31-OCT-2025. This position is Flexible, meaning you are guaranteed a minimum of 0 hours per week to a maximum of 40 hours per week. Your schedule will depend on needs of the facility.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for the programming, operation and maintenance of the golf course irrigation system(s).
• Independently installs, modifies, repairs and maintains a variety of new and existing utility, supply and disposal systems and equipment associated with golf course irrigation systems.
• Plans and ensures the proper slant, slope, fall or level of installation to provide for proper flow, drainage and sanitary operating conditions and to prevent backflow, vacuum or air lock conditions.
• Maintains records and documents actions.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Must complete a background investigation with favorable results.
• Must complete a pre-employment physical.
• Must possess or obtain and maintain a valid state Driver's License.
• Must be a minimum of 18 years of age.
• Must have experience demonstrating knowledge of basic electricity and hydraulics related to irrigation systems, including automatic valves and controllers.
• Requires understanding of agronomy, turfgrass science and the rules of golf.
• Ability to operate light motorized equipment.
• Ability to follow oral and written directions.
• Required to lift, carry and set up parts and equipment weighing up to 40 pounds unassisted and over 40 pounds with assistance.

Benefits

• Salary: $23.82 per hour
• Temporary appointment until 31-OCT-2025
• Intermittent work schedule with a minimum of 0 hours per week to a maximum of 40 hours per week
