Requirements

  • 5–8+ years commercial/industrial plumbing experience with 2+ years leading crews as a Lead/Foreman.
  • State Journeyman or Master Plumber (or ability to obtain); OSHA-10 required (OSHA-30 preferred).
  • Proficient with layout (laser/total station a plus); comfortable with tablets/apps (Procore/PlanGrid/Bluebeam or similar).
  • Knowledge of IPC/UPC, local codes, and inspection processes.
  • Proven crew management, training apprentices, scheduling, and conflict resolution.
  • Ability to lift 50+ lbs, climb ladders, work at heights/in tight spaces; stand/walk for extended periods; work in varied weather.
  • Valid driver’s license; reliable transportation; ability to work overtime, nights, or travel to jobs as required.

Responsibilities

  • Build daily/weekly work plans from drawings, submittals, and schedules; allocate manpower, tools, and equipment.
  • Lead and mentor crews (3–12+), conduct stretch-and-flex, toolbox talks, and hold pre-task plans/JHAs.
  • Perform/oversee layout and installation of DWV, domestic water, storm, natural gas, and hydronic systems (copper, cast iron, steel, PEX/PVC/CPVC).
  • Coordinate sleeves/penetrations, supports/hangers, seismic, insulation, and equipment setting.
  • Interpret drawings/specs; ensure work meets IPC/UPC, local amendments, and manufacturer requirements.
  • Pressure tests, inspections, punch-list management, and QA/QC documentation.
  • Attend coordination meetings; interface with GC, MEP trades, BIM/VDC, and inspectors; drive clash-free installations.
  • Manage RFIs, field sketches, as-builts, and redlines.
  • Pull materials, stage deliveries, control inventory, and reduce waste; support prefab opportunities.
  • Track quantities, production units, and percent complete; hit labor budgets.
  • Enforce company and OSHA standards (LOTO, hot work, fall protection); incident reporting and corrective actions.
  • Support start-up, flushing, disinfection, documentation, O&M manuals, and training.
