The Plumber position at the Corrections Facility in Decatur, Georgia, is a critical role responsible for ensuring the proper functioning of all plumbing systems within the facility. This includes performing preventive and corrective maintenance, conducting inspections, and testing various plumbing components. The position requires a thorough understanding of plumbing systems, including drains, sprinklers, sewage, and steam systems, as well as the ability to respond to emergency repair work, which may occur after hours. The role is situated within a correctional facility, which adds a layer of responsibility and requires adherence to strict safety and security protocols. In this role, the Plumber will be tasked with conducting all necessary inspections on plumbing systems and components, such as backflows, fire hydrants, fire pumps, water heaters, and pressure vessels. The position also involves performing maintenance on natural gas supply and distribution lines, coordinating with outside contractors for contract work, and assisting other trades as needed. The Plumber will be expected to complete maintenance work orders in a timely and professional manner and maintain logs in accordance with ACA requirements. This position offers a full-time schedule, typically Monday through Friday, with the possibility of overtime, holiday, or weekend work as required.
