About The Position

Installs, inspects, repairs, and maintains piping systems and allied equipment within the hospital and off-site facilities. The position involves installing, repairing, and maintaining plumbing systems in industrial and commercial buildings, reading and interpreting blueprints and building codes, testing plumbing systems for leaks, collaborating with other construction professionals, providing estimates for plumbing services, and maintaining accurate records of work performed.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent, required.
• Valid Ohio driver’s license and proof of auto insurance as required by hospital policy.
• Must pass motor vehicle background inspection, insurance eligibility, driving qualifications, and training set forth by Nationwide Children’s Hospital.
• State of Ohio Brazing certification, preferred.
• State of Ohio Backflow Preventor certification, preferred.
• State of Ohio High Pressure Boiler Operators license, preferred.
• ASSE 6010 Medical Gas System Installer certification, preferred.
• Two years of job-related experience.

Nice To Haves

• Knowledge of national and local plumbing codes.
• Knowledgeable of fire suppression systems, medical air, medical vacuum, and medical gas piping distribution systems.

Responsibilities

• Installs, repairs, and maintains plumbing systems in industrial and commercial buildings.
• Reads and interprets blueprints and building codes to determine optimal plumbing layout.
• Tests plumbing systems for leaks and other issues, and makes necessary repairs or replacements.
• Collaborates with other construction professionals to ensure plumbing systems are installed correctly and on time.
• Provides estimates for plumbing services and orders necessary materials.
• Maintains accurate records of work performed and materials used for billing and future reference.
