About The Position

The PLS Surveyor will manage and contribute to the production of various surveying tasks related to infrastructure and land development projects. This role involves conducting boundary surveys, topographical surveys, right of way surveys, and utilizing advanced technologies such as terrestrial and mobile laser scanning, aerial mapping, and GIS services. The PLS Surveyor will ensure project deliverables meet client requirements while enhancing project quality and participating in corporate initiatives.

Requirements

  • Must be a California Professional Licensed Land Surveyor (PLS).
  • Bachelor's Degree and/or 6 years of survey experience is required.
  • Minimum of 5 years as a Geospatial Project Manager is preferred.
  • Project experience in public utilities and transportation industry is preferred.
  • Extensive knowledge working with Trimble field equipment and Trimble office software is required.
  • Comprehensive understanding of the California Land Tenure system and boundary adjustments is necessary.
  • Working knowledge of production processes in AutoCAD Civil3D and Trimble Business Center (TBC) is required.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products like Word, Excel, Teams, and PowerPoint.
  • Developed skills in leadership, oral and written communication, planning, teamwork, decision making, judgment, and problem solving are essential.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record is required.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and contribute to the production of various types of surveying related to infrastructure and land development projects.
  • Assess project requirements and recommend approaches to meet client needs.
  • Prepare and review proposals, price quotes, subcontractor expenses, budgets, and invoices.
  • Enhance project quality by providing ideas and suggestions to improve project activities.
  • Participate in corporate initiatives to meet company goals for sales, profitability, quality, and safety.
  • Supervise and provide QA/QC on assigned survey deliverables and calculations.
  • Perform other incidental and related geospatial duties as required.
