About The Position

This is a newly created role for the company as we integrate a PLM system and process into the business. The PLM Specialist will lead the planning, implementation, and sustainment processes for a new PLM system across all divisions. This role will manage the end-to-end project lifecycle from business requirements to post-launch optimization ensuring seamless collaboration between Merchandising, Product Development, Design, Technical Design, Production, B2Z, and IT. The PLM Specialist will serve as the central liaison between functional teams and technology partners to ensure the PLM system is effectively supporting product creation timelines, data accuracy, and speed-to-market goals. This role is ideal for someone who is both technically savvy and deeply familiar with apparel product development processes. The successful candidate will be a strong communicator, highly organized, proactive, and detail-oriented with a passion for improving efficiency through system and workflow innovation. This position will report into the Director of Merchandising.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 7–10 years of experience in apparel product development, PLM implementation, or digital transformation within a fashion or consumer goods environment.
  • Strong understanding of apparel product lifecycle processes, from concept through production.
  • Familiar with master data management practices for fashion consumer goods.
  • Proven track record in project management
  • Experience implementing and/or managing PLM systems (e.g., Centric, Aptean, PTC FlexPLM, Lectra, or similar platforms).
  • Must have excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Proficient in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Smartsheet, Asana), Excel/Google Sheets, and reporting tools (Tableau preferred).
  • Ability to work cross-functionally and influence without direct authority.
  • Must be a self-starter with a proactive, solution-oriented approach and strong analytical skills.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities and tight deadlines.

Nice To Haves

  • Working knowledge of ERP, 3D design, and digital asset management systems a plus.
  • Experience communicating with global teams and overseas vendors a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the planning, implementation and ongoing management of a new to the business PLM system across all apparel divisions.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact between business users and IT/system vendors to translate product development needs into digital solutions.
  • Manage the organization's style master data and help maintain data integrity between systems
  • Create and manage detailed project plans, timelines, and milestones; track progress and ensure deliverables are met on schedule.
  • Collaborate with Merchandising, Design, Product Development, Technical Design, Production, B2Z and IT teams to align system workflows with existing apparel development processes.
  • Oversee data structure creation (e.g., style setup, hierarchy, attributes, BOMs, measurements, materials libraries) and ensure ongoing accuracy within systems.
  • Partner with system vendors and internal IT teams to test configurations, integrations, and updates to ensure functionality meets user requirements.
  • Develop training documentation and lead onboarding sessions for new users and teams.
  • Monitor user adoption, address system issues, and implement process improvements.
  • Lead change management initiatives to promote cross-functional engagement and alignment with new digital workflows.
  • Analyze system performance and report on key metrics such as data accuracy, adoption rates, and development efficiency.
  • Maintain clear communication and documentation throughout each project phase, including risk assessment and post-launch evaluations.
  • Support the seasonal product development calendar by ensuring system readiness for each milestone.
