  • Owns the project and leads the team in the safe and successful execution of the project by providing subject matter expertise regarding scope, resources, schedule, and budget for automation projects.
  • Identifies labor, material, and time requirements for projects by studying proposals, blueprints, specifications, and related documents.
  • Takes the lead in owning project financials and cashflow management through identifying, recording, and resolving any issue on all reports and projections.
  • Oversees the preparation of material and vendor orders, recording receipts of materials, and approving payments.
  • In conjunction with the team, owns project schedule and takes the lead in developing, executing, and maintaining the schedule through closeout.
  • Plans and analyzes assigned projects, establishes schedules and project parameters, and sets procedures to accomplish system objectives.
  • Prepares for onsite installation and repairs by examining building layout, anticipating difficulties, gathering materials, and coordinating onsite work.
  • Oversees specification of various hardware components such as instrumentation, PLCs, communication systems, and industrial control panels.
  • Oversees the design and configuration of PLC/SCADA networks, as well as the generation of test procedures and forms.
  • Leads the review and analysis for each building component or system to identify risks and provide technical building expertise.
  • Meets with contractors and owners to discuss scope of project, budgets, performance, and close-out.
  • Responsible for preparing subcontractor requests for quotations (RFQ) including scope statements, plans and milestone dates.
  • Responsible for qualifying subcontractor proposals and supervising work of assigned project staff.
  • Responsible for change order management by recommending solutions, facilitating quotes, and closing orders.
  • Maintains client satisfaction by investigating concerns, implementing corrective action, and communicating with customers and staff.
  • Establishes professional relationship and communicates with field support staff and customers and their representatives.
  • Documents work by completing paperwork on each job including daily time, progress and duration, and file maintenance.
  • Responsible for obtaining acceptance and timely sign-off of the project by the client.
  • Keeps current on all McCarthy projects concerning installation, operation, maintenance, service, and repair of PLC systems.
  • Continually enforces safety to the highest standards and maintains security and accountability of company-issued and procured assets.
  • Assigns staff responsibilities and develop/maintain staff responsibilities; lead and mentor a team of engineers and other technical resources.
  • Identifies opportunities for improvement and provide training to team members, ensuring each individual develops to their fullest potential.
  • 5+ years of experience in a PLC project engineering environment required.
  • 3+ years of dedicated project management experience preferred.
  • Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Computer Programming, Information Systems, or similar technical studies is preferred.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of control system technologies including PLC, SCADA, and DCS systems is required.
  • Ability to read and understand mechanical, electrical, and plumbing plans is required.
  • Understanding of control system network topology.
  • Familiarity with instrumentation and the ability to size/select the proper instrumentation for the application.
  • GMP and validation experience.
  • Ability to travel as necessary, or relocation to the project site required.
  • Positive attitude with an eagerness to learn and a desire to excel.
  • Self-motivated and can work well with others.
  • Proficient communicator.
  • Ability to work independently and complete daily activities according to work schedule.
  • Ability to meet attendance schedule with dependability and consistency.
  • Must have a customer-focused mindset.

  • Implementation of detailed workplans and THA (Task Hazard Analysis).
  • Must be able to use a computer proficiently.
  • Must have experience with the Windows operating system including the Office software suite.
  • Must be able to safely and legally operate a vehicle.
