Johnson College is currently seeking a Programmable Logic Controller instructor. The position responsibilities would include instructing students with principles and applications. Academic instruction will include classroom lecture and hands-on activity. The ideal candidate should have experience with programmable logic controllers (preferably Studio 5000) and set up and troubleshooting of Allen Bradly CompactLogix programmable controllers, and the implementation of safety in an automated environment. The ideal candidate should have knowledge of programming in Ladder Logic and Function Block environment. This position will include organizing and delivering class syllabi, and objectives in a clear, concise manner, maintaining an organized and safe lab; ensuring training aids, tools, and equipment are maintained and prepared for use in the classroom and labs; keeping accurate records of student performance and making the timely submission of academic records; providing students and timely feedback. Applicants should have knowledge of all the tools, equipment, skills and resources utilized in the field as well as the ability to work with students in a safe manner. The ideal candidate should have the ability to speak confidently in front of a small crowd and flexible work hours, including evening classes. All teaching positions require a minimum of 4-5 years of technical experience and/or an Associate's degree, preferred. Prior teaching experience is preferred but not required for most positions.
