Position Description Modine Data Centers is looking for a builder-operator to design, deploy, and institutionalize our Project Lifecycle (PLC) Process grounded in APQP principles; stand up governance (phase gates, deliverables, quality criteria); create the SOPs/templates and training ("PLC University"). Secondly prepare the organization for a future PMO/PPM platform definition, design and rollout. This role starts hands-on: writing the documents, building the templates, leading reviews, and coaching teams. Over time, the role scales to lead PMO PLC University and a financial analytics team, including a Cost & ROI Analysts. Key Outcomes (First 6-12 Months) Publish PLC v1.0 with clear phases/gates, entry/exit criteria, RACI, and deliverable quality definitions; pilot and iterate to v1.1. Stand up PLC Process Governance Team focused on process quality measures and improvements. Stand up Phase-Gate Review governance: calendar, pre-read standards, quorum rules, decision log; achieve >90% on-time reviews. Release a controlled SOP/template library with version control and a simple knowledge portal (SharePoint/Confluence) and searchable taxonomy. Launch "PLC University": 8-12 microlearning modules plus 3-4 instructor-led workshops for complex topics. Govern established monthly PMO Projects Review cadence and associated tracking project health dashboard. Complete a PPM readiness assessment and roadmap (data model, intake, resource planning, financial integration); prepare vendor shortlist and RFP criteria for 2026 evaluation.

Requirements

  • 10+ years in PMO/Program Management for complex engineered products; 5+ years designing or running gated PLC/APQP processes.
  • Proven record authoring SOPs/templates and standing up governance with measurable adoption.
  • Manufacturing + NPI experience; familiarity with APQP/PPAP, PMP Life Cycle Process, Phase-Gate Process deliverables is the must.
  • Strong financial acumen, can build/assess business cases, define and manage financial projects KPIs standards.
  • Change leadership (e.g., ADKAR) and facilitation skills; capable of training/coaching diverse audiences globally.
  • Bachelor's in Engineering, Operations, or related; MBA or equivalent experience preferred. PMP/PgMP, Lean Six Sigma Black Belt a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Design the end-to-end PLC Process grounded in APQP: phases, gates, entry/exit criteria, deliverable quality checks, and artifacts (charter, DFMEA/PFMEA hooks, V&V plans, PPAP as applicable).
  • Own the Phase-Gate Review process and cadence; chair preparation; ensure decisions, risks, and actions are documented and traceable.
  • Create, publish, and maintain SOPs, work instructions, checklists, and templates with version control and change history.
  • Develop a blended learning strategy: self-paced microlearning, job aids, and live workshops for advanced topics.
  • Facilitate and/or build role-based curricula for PMs, Tech Leads, Product Managers, Quality, Ops, Finance and other applicable workstreams/functional areas.
  • Track adoption: module completion, assessment scores, application in projects; drive continuous improvement feedback loops.
  • Standardize the project financial toolkit, tracking method, and benefits realization.
  • Review costed BOMs, make/buy assumptions, and sensitivity cases with Engineering, Sourcing, and Finance; ensure gate-ready economics.
  • Lead the PPM readiness assessment (process, data model, governance, integrations); document requirements and selection criteria.
  • Drive vendor scan/shortlist and partner with IT for RFP/selection in 2026.
  • Plan phased rollout and change management to ensure adoption; define data/metadata standards from day one.
  • Be a "leader-doer" in year one: personally author critical SOPs/templates, facilitate hard reviews, and model high standards.
  • Influence without adding friction: offload work from busy SMEs by drafting high-quality materials and only demanding precise inputs/approvals.
  • Partner tightly with Product Management, Engineering, Quality, Operations, Supply Chain, and Finance to align PLC with real-world constraints.
