Project Overview Hitachi is seeking a skilled PLC Engineer to support a short-term, high-impact project focused on developing and scaling a hardware-based manufacturing simulator. The simulator will enable AI-driven applications within a manufacturing environment.

Requirements

  • PLC Programming: Strong hands-on experience with Siemens TIA Portal
  • Programming Languages: SCL (mandatory), Ladder Programming
  • Hardware Integration: Experience connecting PLCs to sensors and field devices via wiring
  • Core Competency for Success: Proven SCL coding capability in Siemens environments
  • Prior experience programming PLCs using SCL on Siemens TIA Portal

Nice To Haves

  • Exposure to manufacturing, automation, or industrial control systems is strongly preferred

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and enhance PLC programs for a hardware-based manufacturing simulator
  • Program and configure PLC logic using Siemens TIA Portal
  • Develop control logic using SCL (Structured Control Language) and Ladder Logic
  • Integrate PLC systems with sensor devices through wired connections
  • Support scaling of the simulator to enable AI-based manufacturing use cases
  • Collaborate with engineering and AI teams to ensure reliable and accurate simulation outputs
