About The Position

The PLC Controls Technician at Mac Incorporated is responsible for maintaining and troubleshooting manufacturing and packaging equipment in a beverage plant. This role requires strong mechanical and electrical skills, particularly in the use of programmable logic controllers (PLCs). The position offers direct hire opportunities with significant growth potential within a large manufacturing organization, operating on a 7AM-7PM or 7PM-7AM schedule.

Requirements

• Three (3) plus years experience in industrial manufacturing maintenance required.
• Experience with Allen Bradley PLCs required.
• Electrical/electronic troubleshooting and repair skills required.
• Ability to use RS Logix 5000, RS Logix 500, or RS Logix 5 software for machine troubleshooting.
• Ability to go online with Control Logix, Compact Logix, SLC500, or PLC5 using Ethernet I/P, DH+, or RS232.
• Ability to read and understand electrical schematics.
• Ability to use a multimeter and work in control panels with up to 480VAC.

Nice To Haves

• Aptitude for further development of technical skills.
• Experience with AB Powerflex 40, 400, and 525 VFDs and Yaskawa V1000 and P1000 VFDs.
• Experience with Panelview and downloading applications using Panelbuilder 32 and RS View Studio Machine Edition.

Responsibilities

• Participate in and direct troubleshooting activities in the event of equipment failure.
• Work with production team to make rapid, educated decisions regarding issues and troubleshoot systems.
• Perform maintenance, testing, and upgrading of all production equipment.
• Install and test new food manufacturing, packaging, and processing equipment.
• Interface with machine tools and troubleshoot existing equipment for electrical or electronics failures.
• Conduct preventative maintenance and repair as required.
• Participate in a continuous improvement culture while following safe workplace practices.
• Develop positive interactions with managers, supervisors, maintenance technicians, and machine operators.
