About The Position

Our PLC Applications Engineering department is growing! Join our team and you will contribute to complex and interesting projects that impact the lives of the communities we serve. As a full-service Systems Integrator and Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM), (Ranked #1 System Integrator focused on Water/Wastewater and #12 overall on the Global System Integrator Giants List 2023). We design, engineer, manufacture, program, and integrate electrical, power, and process control systems for water/wastewater, transportation, power, and renewable energy facilities. We help clients optimize operations, increase overall efficiency, and reduce operating costs. We employ experts in every control discipline. TESCO’s unique ability to manufacture custom solutions and design and commission equipment, power and control systems provides clients with well-designed systems that work as intended. The PLC Applications Engineer writes PLC programs, OIT programs, and software control descriptions for controlling various water and/or wastewater processes. This is the ideal role for an Automation Engineer with a passion for the analysis, design, programming, debugging and modification of programmable logic for such applications. Senior Programmers, for us have the ability and willingness to train and aid other programmers, along with assisting in the development of departmental best practices and standards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/Engineering/Technology or related field and industry experience
  • Applied knowledge in programming major manufacturers (Allen-Bradley, Schneider Electric, Siemens, Tesco, etc.) PLCs & OITs
  • Excellent understanding of computer operations, Microsoft Office
  • Excellent knowledge of instruments and electro-mechanical devices used for process control
  • Preferred 2-5+ years of related experience
  • Fluency with programming at least 3 manufacturers PLC's

Responsibilities

  • Write PLC operating program based upon control specification and/or Tesco standards to assure safe, reliable and optimal equipment operation
  • Write (publish) concise operating instructions detailing; control parameters and their effects under normal and failure conditions
  • Provide technical assistance (phone or job-site) to verify and/or modify PLC program
  • Perform customer training and assist sales force with product presentations
  • Work with various departments internally, along with consulting engineers, customers and end-users to assure proper system layouts and designs
  • Assist in training other employees on any aspect above
