Requirements

  • Must be 21 or older.
  • Must have high school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • General cashiering background or prior money handling experience preferred.
  • Previous experience in race and sportsbook preferred.
  • Working knowledge of tote system to place customer bets.
  • Previous experience with jet sort, coin roller, check cashing, and credit card cash advance systems.
  • Efficiency and accuracy when entering guests wagers and paying out winners.
  • Ability to respond calmly and make rational decisions when required.
  • Ability to learn and comply with department, property, and regulatory policy and procedure.

  • Ability to manage difficult guest situations effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Explain wagering rules, including betting lines and odds, and procedures.
  • Efficiently and accurately process all pari-mutuel wagers in the tote.
  • Write, verify, and make payments on tickets for sports wagers in accordance with department policy and procedures.
  • Create and enter player tracking.
  • Make payments on winning tickets in an accurate and timely manner; verify tickets.
  • Maintain a cash bank for the shift, responsible for accepting payment and making correct change.
  • Maintain and reconcile bank for assigned shift, following established cash-handling policies.
  • Process cash transactions for gaming customers and employees.
  • Be knowledgeable and comply with Title 31 regulations.
  • Enroll patrons into the loyalty program, issue loyalty program player cards, and maintain accurate player tracking information.
  • Count down bank or window at end of each shift and reconcile to the draw amount.
  • Complete a blind drop on all revenues collected during the shift.
  • Operate assigned bank or window according to department and regulatory standards.
  • Complete all required shift paperwork according to internal control standards.
  • Record any applicable cash transactions required by Federal Law.
  • Provide information and assistance to customers in a friendly, courteous manner.
  • Manage difficult guest situations and respond promptly to guest needs.
  • Stock stations with adequate supplies and keep all stations neat and clean.
