About The Position

Austin Urban Veterinary Center is seeking a full-time Pet Care Technician to support our thriving dog and cat boarding and dog play care facility located in the heart of downtown Austin, TX. This is not a seasonal or temporary role —we are looking for a dedicated professional who wants to grow with our team long-term. Our bustling facility serves downtown Austin residents and surrounding communities. As a Pet Care Technician, you will play a hands-on role in the daily care, supervision, and safety of our pet guests. Requirements

Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
Comfortable standing and moving for extended periods
Capable of extensive cleaning and laundry tasks
Strong multitasking skills and attention to detail
Professional, polite communication with clients
Basic PC proficiency
Team-oriented mindset with strong work ethic

Nice To Haves

Experience working with dogs and cats (professional experience preferred but not required)
Understanding that pets are family members and must be handled with extreme care

Responsibilities

Rotate dogs safely in and out of supervised playgroups throughout the day
Monitor dog playgroups to ensure a safe, structured, and fun environment
Check pets in and out while providing outstanding client service
Prepare and distribute meals according to feeding instructions
Administer medications, including injections (training provided as needed)
Maintain daily cleanliness of pet suites (including litter box maintenance)
Sanitize indoor dog play areas (this role involves significant cleaning)
Perform laundry and maintain overall facility cleanliness
Accurately enter pet care notes into our software system (training provided)
Transport pets to the downstairs veterinary clinic when needed
Communicate effectively with teammates regarding care updates and operational needs
