Responsibilities

  • Perform a range of repetitive operations, racking, un-racking, plating, assembly, using hand and power tools.
  • Follow verbal and written instructions, operation sheets, processes and clearly-defined procedures to complete tasks.
  • Use overhead hoist, lift truck and other material handling equipment as required.
  • Load parts, raw steel and remove parts after forming, assembly and bead-blasting as required.
  • Maintain solutions for effective cleaning and plating operations processes to produce quality parts.
  • Load and unload racks and plating barrels and place into tanks in proper sequence for required cycle times.
  • Help clean and flush tanks and assist in preparing new solutions.
  • Handle hazardous waste and hazardous substances.
  • Perform minor maintenance on equipment as required.
  • Fill out and attach in-ticket cards to finished products, report labor and other necessary data in the system.
  • Ensure that parts are in conformance to prescribed quality criteria.
  • Help in planning daily and weekly production runs; enter quantities, production adjustments to schedule and other appropriate information into the computer.
  • Operate various manual or computerized testing equipment to check parts for quality.
  • Participate in team activities and problem solving sessions as required.
  • Communicate problems and/or solutions to appropriate team member.
  • Document and/or chart production data to aid in problem identification, quality feedback and production scheduling.
  • Troubleshoot problems when necessary.
  • Train, instruct and assist other operators in their duties as required to ensure a quality product and smooth flow.
  • Evaluate defective material and tooling, faulty operations, questionable conditions and potential work stoppages.
  • Advise and recommend alternatives.
  • Ensure that work area and equipment are maintained in a clean, orderly and safe condition.
  • Follow prescribed safety regulations.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or (GED) General Education Degree.
  • Height of 5'8" is required for this position.
