Position Summary - 2nd Shift (2:30pm - 11:00pm) Selected Plating Operator candidates in this position will be expected to successfully apply Post Chromate (chemical conversion coatings) to steel alloy production parts, and perform various support functions for the Plating department. Candidates in this position shall be fully familiar with various racking techniques, manual and tank chromate treatment applications, and other pre cleaning operations such as solvent cleaning and vapor degreasing. Plating Operators will also be expected to maintain terminal equipment in good working order throughout the production cycle such as repair and replacement of racking components and equipment as necessary. Candidates must be self-disciplined and self-motivated individuals with strong accountability (attention to details) skills. Candidates must have the ability and desire to be flexible and adaptable in a fast-paced production environment, be resourceful and innovative along with presenting a strong business ethic and compliance to leadership and company policies, and a good communicator with the ability to represent the company in a positive manner. Primary Duties & Responsibilities: Work safely under functional safety guidelines such as PPE and equipment interaction. Verify parts to shop traveler for quantities and that prior operations have been completed before starting process. If any discrepancies, return to prior department for corrections. Read shop travelers or blueprints to determine specified requirements and instructions for plating parts. Review specific instructions and operating procedures for the Plating process to make sure that specific requirements are met according to shop traveler instructions. Follow standard operating procedures to check, test, login, logout, and plate good quality parts, coordinating with department’s supervisor or lead during the process. Perform other duties as assigned.
