PLATING OPERATOR 1st Shift MACON [MACON08550]
About The Position

The Plating Operator operates one or more plating lines to provide a variety of finishes. This involves loading parts into plating barrels to be processed by an automated hoist, unloading completed parts, drying and inspecting their quality. The operator compares the finished parts to existing samples for consistency. Additionally, the role includes loading containers onto a conveyor for processing, unloading finished product and placing it in a buffer zone. The operator is also responsible for the machine that degreases sliders and applies zinc phosphate coating prior to painting.
Requirements
- High School Diploma/GED (minimum)
- Must be able to: stoop/bend, reach/stretch, drive forklift, wear respirator, distinguish color and lift up to 110 lbs.
Responsibilities
- Start up and shut down primary and auxiliary equipment. Constantly monitor bath temperature, rectifier, current, etc. for abnormal conditions to ensure safe operation and produce good quality
- Follow daily schedule processed by management and add chemicals routinely as directed to proper tanks and at correct times
- Perform preventive maintenance as needed
- Receive slider parts and chemicals and place in storage
- Complete quality inspection report for manager
- Apply label to job card if slider is okay and scan.
- Complete shipping reports
- Hazardous material/hazardous waste certification required within 90 days of hire date.
- Performs other duties as required by management
