About The Position

This is a key succession and leadership role focused on learning, preserving, and ultimately owning Servometer’s unique electroplating processes. The role will work closely with a long-tenured plating expert to document institutional knowledge and ensure continuity of this core capability. The Plating Department Supervisor oversees daily plating operations, supervises the on-site chemist, and partners with Engineering and Quality to maintain consistent, high-precision results. The role also supports continuous improvement initiatives, wastewater treatment oversight, and day-to-day leadership of the plating team.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Chemical, or Process Engineering (or related field).
  • Hands-on understanding of plating chemistry, processes, and equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
  • 5+ years of manufacturing leadership experience; plating or chemical processing preferred.

Nice To Haves

  • ISO 9001 / AS9100 familiarity a plus.
  • ERP system experience (Infor VISUAL or similar) preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage all daily plating operations, including scheduling, production planning, and personnel direction.
  • Oversee and support the on-site Chemist in maintaining plating bath chemistry, testing, and analysis to ensure consistent and high-quality results.
  • Partner closely with Engineering and Quality to develop, validate, and refine plating “recipes” for new parts, prototypes, and continuous improvement projects.
  • Maintain detailed records for plating baths, tank maintenance, and lot control; monitor process data to maintain optimal plating windows.
  • Plan and communicate weekly plating production outlooks and results through regular team meetings.
  • Oversee wastewater treatment and recycling systems to ensure reliability, compliance, and environmental responsibility.
  • Lead, develop, and train plating personnel in technical and operational skills, fostering a culture of accountability and safety.
  • Track and communicate key performance indicators (yields, capacity, utilization) using Lean and GEMBA methodologies.
  • Proactively identify and implement opportunities for efficiency and process improvement.
  • Participate in a structured knowledge transfer program with the current Plating Supervisor to ensure seamless succession and preservation of proprietary know-how.
