As Platform Technical Lead – PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) Systems , you will be primarily responsible for leading the design, configuration, and support of product lifecycle management using the Siemens Polarion and Teamcenter applications. You will own the architecture, design, and execution of enterprise PLM platform infrastructure while remaining deeply hands-on with build, configuration, optimization, and troubleshooting. This role supports an ecosystem of applications that host systems-based design, modeling, development, validation, and transfer to downstream operations—ultimately resulting in the launch of new medical devices that preserve, protect, and restore sight for millions of patients. Based in Fort Worth, Texas , the Platform Technical Lead – PLM Systems operates as the primary technical authority for infrastructure-related decisions and serves as a key partner to DevOps, application, and support teams to ensure scalable, secure, and highly available platforms. In this role a typical day will include: Developing the infrastructure architecture roadmap for Teamcenter, Polarion, and associated applications. Establishing standards for environment design and sizing, capacity planning, performance targets, high availability, and disaster recovery. Designing scalable and resilient architectures across application and web tiers, middleware and integration services, and file management, storage, and data services. Performing hands-on design, build, and configuration of PLM platform infrastructure, including Teamcenter Enterprise Tier, Web Tier, FMS (File Management System), Dispatcher and Volume Servers, and Polarion application, reporting, and integration services. Participating directly in complex platform troubleshooting and root cause analysis. Configuring and tuning application servers and JVM (Java Virtual Machine) settings, load balancing and failover solutions, storage, backup, and recovery mechanisms. Implementing monitoring, alerting, and capacity forecasting mechanisms for PLM platforms. Managing day-to-day delegation of activities to junior resources to meet team objectives. Collaborating with application and integration teams on architectural alignment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent years of related experience (or high school+15 yrs; Assoc.+14 yrs; M.S.+7 yrs; PhD+6 yrs)
  • The ability to fluently read, write, understand, and communicate in English
  • 7 Years of Relevant Experience

Nice To Haves

  • Extensive hands‑on experience supporting Siemens Teamcenter infrastructure in production environments.
  • Demonstrated experience operating as a technical lead or senior platform engineer.
  • Strong expertise in Teamcenter infrastructure architecture and deployment models.
  • Experience with Polarion infrastructure and application services.
  • Experience with Windows, Linux, Application servers (e.g., WebLogic, Tomcat).
  • Experience with Enterprise applications, storage system and file services, load balancers, networking, and firewall concepts.
  • Experience with Database platforms (Oracle and/or SQL Server) from an infrastructure perspective.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting capabilities.
  • Ability to identify problems and develop solutions.
  • Experience with GxP applications is preferred.
  • Experience in regulated industry (ie. Medical devices) preferred.
