About The Position

We are looking for an Platform Systems Engineer with a high degree of accountability and ability to thrive in an Agile team environment as a part of the Program Systems team in Business and Regional Avionics. A wide variety of systems engineering tasks will be required as the programs develop new feature designs, execute extensive flight test campaigns and complete certification activities. These new aircraft designs continue to present engineering challenges every day for Collins Aerospace and our customers. What You Will Do: Perform all phases of the system development lifecycle, including requirements capture, system design and modeling, integration with hardware and software components, and system validation and verification. Make minor changes or enhancements in systems and processes to solve problems or improve the effectiveness of the work area. Work with other engineers to document derived requirements, define internal system interfaces, develop system architectures, integrate system components, and perform system verification. Explain policies, practices, and procedures of the work area to others within the organization, influencing decision-makers with recommended courses of action. Participate in formal and informal test events and support all phases of the program lifecycle. Requirements

  • Requires a Master’s degree and 12 months or less of relevant professional work experience (excluding internships).

  • Advanced degree in Aerospace Engineering
  • Private Pilot License, or general passion for aviation
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal, written and presentation)
  • Highly motivated, self-starter with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
  • Ability to quickly acquire technical domain knowledge and contribute to the design of sophisticated architectural systems
  • Willingness to occasionally work beyond typical hours (e.g., beyond a 7:30 am to 4:30 pm workday or a 40-hour work week).
