About The Position

Responsible for designing , developing and testing Embedded Software. Typically requires a deep understanding of the characteristics of the physical device being controlled, the real-time functions it is expected to perform and the ability to design, develop, implement, and test the logic and software required to realize the real-time functionality. Responsible for departmental operations planning/execution or is focused on execution of professional activities within a technical discipline. The role has some autonomy but is focused on execution of activities within an operating discipline covered by standard functional practices and procedures. The job allows modification of procedures and practices covering work as long as the end results meet standards of acceptability (quality, volume, timeliness etc.). Job Description Roles and Responsibilities: Architects, designs and/or programs/develops a small module or a large component, feature, set of feature, whole feature area or entire embedded software product. Some areas of expertise may include, but is not limited to, networks, operating systems, cybersecurity, databases or applications. May be responsible for the creation of an entire product. [Small teams will use this DAW to include all phases of design/Development cycle all the way to Release] Has knowledge of best practices and how own area integrates with others; is aware of the competition and the factors that differentiate them in the market. Uses engineering judgment and has ability to propose different solutions outside of set parameters to address more complicated manufacturing processes with technical variety and/or interdependent production cycles. Uses technical experience and analytical thinking. Uses multiple internal and limited external sources outside of own teams to arrive at decisions. Leadership: Serve as an individual contributor with exceptional interpersonal skills or an early people leader, capable of hiring and developing talent. Provide guidance to new team members. Work in an agile/scum environment as a technical resource.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in development of embedded software.
  • 3+ years of experience working on DO-178C Software Level A-C programs.
  • This position requires U.S. citizenship status.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with the CAMEO Enterprise Architect Tool.
  • Familiarity in Model Based Design (MBD) for software architecture, requirements, design, and Test of real-time systems.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, with ability to influence product leadership and technology strategy.
