Platform Software Engineer – Office & Cloud Technologies We are seeking a mid-level, hands-on Platform Software Engineer to design, implement, and operate modern workplace platforms centered on Microsoft Office and cloud technologies . This role places a strong priority on candidates with experience working in or closely with a Service Desk , combining deep technical execution with an understanding of end-user support, incident response, and operational workflows. You will work closely with infrastructure, security, end-user support, and Service Desk teams to deliver stable, secure, and well-governed productivity, collaboration, and telephony platforms.

Requirements

  • 3–6 years of hands-on experience supporting Microsoft 365 and modern workplace platforms
  • Prior experience working in a Service Desk or end-user support environment , or in close partnership with one
  • Practical experience with Intune , Entra ID (Azure AD) , and hybrid identity environments
  • Experience managing Active Directory in on-prem or hybrid scenarios
  • Working knowledge of call center or enterprise phone systems , including call flow design
  • Strong understanding of networking fundamentals and firewall administration
  • Experience implementing or supporting email security and endpoint protection platforms
  • Working knowledge of Azure core services
  • Proficiency with PowerShell for automation and administration

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working in insurance, healthcare, or financial services environments
  • Familiarity with regulated or compliance-driven organizations
  • Associate-level certifications (e.g., AZ-104 , MS-102 , CCNA , or equivalent cloud/networking certifications)

Responsibilities

  • Implement, configure, and operate Microsoft 365 services and Office applications
  • Administer Entra ID (Azure AD) , including identity lifecycle, Conditional Access, MFA, and hybrid identity integrations
  • Deploy and manage Intune for device enrollment, compliance policies, security baselines, and application delivery
  • Maintain and support Active Directory domain controllers in hybrid environments
  • Implement and maintain modern call center–type phone systems , including auto attendants, phone trees, call queues, and routing logic
  • Configure and support firewalls, VPNs, and core networking for on-prem and cloud connectivity
  • Implement and support email security platforms and next-generation antivirus / endpoint protection solutions
  • Support Azure infrastructure used by identity and workplace platforms
  • Automate routine tasks and operational processes using PowerShell
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, configurations, and runbooks
  • Work with the Service Desk, providing escalation support, resolving complex incidents, and improving platform stability and user experience (This is crucial to roles success)
  • Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance
