Platform Product Manager

QuindarArvada, CO

About The Position

Quindar builds modern, cloud-native satellite mission operations software with a simple mission: to operate satellites like servers. Our platform replaces fragmented, legacy ground systems with an integrated, automation-driven approach that brings modern software velocity to space operations. We're a small, fast-moving team with deep aerospace and software roots, energized by big challenges and motivated by the impact we have on real missions in this next chapter of the Space Age. If you want to work with sharp, ambitious people who push boundaries, move quickly, and are excited to take space operations to the next level, Quindar is the place to do it. We’re looking for a deeply technical Platform Product Manager to join our growing team. In this role, you will own the end-to-end lifecycle of the core technologies, systems, and services that power Quindar’s unified mission operations platform. You will partner closely with platform engineering, information security, mission integration engineering, other product managers, design, and technical program management to define the strategy, requirements, and execution plans that ensure our platform is reliable, extensible, secure, and easy for developers and mission operators to build on. Our customers operate large, diverse satellite constellations — each with unique architectures and operational needs — and we provide the unified platform to automate and accelerate their mission operations. The aim of a product manager at Quindar is the right products and features for our customers at the right time – not too early or too late. Specifically, the Platform Product Manager will focus on: Developer Experience & Tooling: SDKs, APIs, documentation, onboarding flows, and integration frameworks that enable developer productivity and reduce time-to-value. Infrastructure & Deployment Environments: Cloud and on-premises deployments, environment configuration, scaling strategies, and resource optimization. Platform Reliability & Observability: SLO/SLA definitions, performance monitoring, health/status systems, incident participation, and continual reliability improvement. Security, Compliance & Access Control: Authentication, RBAC, auditability, data governance, and compliance requirements for secure mission operations. Platform Scalability & Performance: Latency, throughput, extensibility, backward compatibility, and change management across APIs and services. Your responsibility is to ensure they can onboard quickly, integrate seamlessly, and confidently run mission-critical operations through Quindar. You should be comfortable diving into technical requirements and system architecture discussions while keeping user empathy, the product vision, and long-term platform health at the center of your decisions.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of product management experience, ideally in aerospace, defense, infrastructure, or complex technical SaaS platforms.
  • Active U.S. Security Clearance (Secret or higher required; TS/SCI preferred).
  • Proven success delivering platform or developer-focused products end-to-end.
  • Experience with secure or regulated deployments (e.g., AWS GovCloud, on-prem, C2S/C2E, or IL-enclave environments).
  • Experience with cost optimization in cloud environments.
  • Strong technical background with understanding of distributed systems, cloud architectures, DevOps practices, CI/CD, and system design fundamentals.
  • Experience with API and SDK lifecycle management, documentation, and developer experience optimization.
  • Familiarity with reliability concepts such as SLIs/SLOs, incident response, observability, and performance engineering.
  • Excellent communication, cross-functional leadership, and prioritization skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, business, or equivalent experience.
  • Ability to excel in a fast-paced, evolving environment.

Responsibilities

  • Strategy & Vision: Define and maintain the platform strategy, roadmap, and long-term vision across internal and external stakeholders, developing clear product requirements, user stories, success metrics, and platform-level KPIs.
  • Execution: Participate in design and system architecture discussions, balancing customer needs with technical constraints and platform health. Work with engineering teams to deliver platform features, services, and infrastructure improvements on time and to spec.
  • Developer & Customer Experience: Ensure a smooth self-service experience across APIs, SDKs, deployments, and configuration tools.
  • User Understanding: Conduct user research, shadow customers, analyze data, and synthesize information from customer-facing teams to develop deep user empathy and inform product decisions.
  • Metrics: Monitor product performance and use metrics to guide iterations on and improvements to your product areas. Define and track SLOs/SLAs and reliability goals.
  • Leadership: Serve as the go-to expert on the product, the market, the competition, and the customers.
  • Collaboration: Communicate effectively and drive cross-functional alignment with stakeholders at all levels, from engineering teams to executive leadership.
