About The Position
NBC4 in Washington, DC is looking for a Platform Manager/Newscast Producer. This role is responsible for the overall editorial content on one or more platforms produced by WRC. The individual will serve as the primary line producer of assigned daily newscast and work with Content Producers to select the most compelling and relevant stories. The position involves collaboration with the production team to ensure smooth and seamless productions, as well as working with Daypart Managers and other Platform Managers to ensure the most complete local news coverage. The candidate will also work with the digital team to incorporate social/mobile/digital content into the newscast and play an active role in the editorial process, advocating for nbcwashington.com and other digital apps/platforms. Responsibilities include writing, producing, desktop editing, and gathering content for all platforms, effectively managing a pool of content producers, and ensuring fairness, accuracy, and balance in stories.
