We are searching for a Platform Infrastructure Engineer to support future opportunities . The person in this role will i nstall, configure, optimize , and validate scientific platforms and underlying on-premises and cloud-based infrastructure to ensure high availability, security, and performance for biomedical research and laboratory automation . This position will be based in Bethesda, MD . Design, implement, and optimize platform infrastructure, including migrating from legacy on-premise solutions to cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP) with high reliability and scalability. Install and configure high-throughput screening (HTS) platforms, Automated Compound Management Systems, and platform components. Set up and maintain networking equipment, cloud platform resources, and high-performance computing (HPC) clusters supporting scientific platforms. Perform platform validation, integration testing, and maintain audit-ready documentation, including support for Authority to Operate (ATO) processes. Implement and maintain monitoring, backup/restore, and change control processes using tools such as Nagios, Ganglia, XDMoD, and SIEMs. Apply industry-standard and NIH-mandated security measures, conduct vulnerability assessments, and ensure compliance with NIST, CIS, and other frameworks. Automate deployment workflows using tools like Ansible, Terraform, and Packer. Collaborate with vendors, researchers, and internal teams for upgrades, lifecycle management, and solution transitions. Lead quarterly patch cycles and coordinate with external stakeholders. Support troubleshooting, diagnostics, and technical support for scientific platforms.
