To read more about what our tech team does, be sure to visit our tech blog at ally.tech We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Tech Lead and Engineering Manager to oversee the technical delivery of an internal platform, central to automating and optimizing Ally's technology operating model, and to lead a team of talented engineers. The dual role is critical for ensuring the platform's scalability, reliability, and security while fostering the professional growth and success of our engineering team. The role is responsible for managing the results of software development teams, to ensure software solutions are built according to company standards and are compliant with business requirements. At this time, Ally will not sponsor a new applicant for employment authorization for this position.

  • Platform Management: Ensure the platform remains scalable, reliable, and secure, adhering to best practices in implementation. Collaborate with Architecture for ongoing evaluation and cost-saving opportunities.
  • Technical Strategy: Partner with the Product Owner to translate technical requirements into actionable plans and define the technical strategy for feature development.
  • Technical Leadership: Provide guidance to the engineering team, ensuring adherence to best practices and delivery of high-quality code.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with support teams to ensure seamless integration and optimal performance.
  • Team Management: Mentor and support a team of engineers, fostering their professional growth and development.
  • Best Practices: Promote best practices to enhance productivity and code quality within the team.
  • Performance Reviews: Conduct regular performance reviews, set goals, and provide constructive feedback.
  • Leadership and Partnership: Collaborate with the QA team and Lead Engineer to ensure quality assurance and alignment on technical decisions.
  • 5+ years of experience in full stack development, with a focus on React.js and Node.js.
  • 1+ years of experience in a tech lead or engineering manager role, preferably within a platform-focused environment.
  • Experience working on and leading a dynamic agile based team in a collaborative work environment.
  • Strong understanding of platform management and automation best practices.
  • Proficiency in NodeJS, React, SQL, and AWS (Lambda, DynamoDB, etc).
  • Excellent leadership and mentoring skills, with a track record of fostering team growth and development.
  • Ability to translate technical requirements into strategic plans and execute them effectively.
  • Experience in cross-functional collaboration with various support teams.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with product owners and other stakeholders.
  • Familiar with enterprise change management.
  • Experience with work management tools such as Jira and ServiceNow.
  • Recent experience/focus on React.js and Node.js
  • 2+ years of leadership experience managing development teams.
  • Experience in delivering features using Generative AI and/or Machine Learning.
  • Expertise in integrating AI capabilities to enhance platform automation and efficiency.
  • Familiarity with Dynatrace and LogRocket for monitoring and analytics.
  • Experience with Test Automation tools (Cypress, Tosca, etc.).
