About The Position

LiveFlow is building the next-generation accounting and finance platform to enable lean finance teams to run massive enterprises. As a Platform Engineer, you will play a vital role in tackling ongoing maintenance and parallelizing work across a growing roadmap of projects, including Data and Billing, Internal Tooling, Infrastructure, and Security & Compliance. You will help shape your role based on your talent, passion, and ambition, and contribute to fostering an inspiring culture as we scale the organization in the coming years. You will face interesting challenges and have the opportunity to bring your ideas and implementations to excited customers.

Requirements

  • 3–5+ years of experience as a backend or platform engineer
  • Strong backend engineering skills in any language, with a preference for functional programming
  • Strong relational database experience, ideally with Postgres
  • Comfortable working with cloud infrastructure, preferably AWS
  • Enjoys improving internal processes and tools for both engineers and the wider business
  • Happy to wear many hats and take on varied projects

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Elixir or other functional languages (e.g. Erlang, Clojure, Haskell, OCaml)
  • Experience with Terraform
  • Experience with data pipelines at any scale
  • Experience with Retool
  • Frontend experience with React, Next.js, or Vercel

Responsibilities

  • Building and maintaining scalable internal infrastructure on AWS
  • Improving internal tooling for engineers and cross-functional teams
  • Maintaining and optimizing secure systems for billing, compliance, and user data
  • Designing and extending internal data pipelines
  • Implementing infrastructure-as-code with Terraform
  • Occasionally wearing a product or DevOps hat to support the wider team
