About The Position

You would be on a great team of DevSecOps Engineers who are helping to build, enhance and support internal employees’ current software development tools (platform engineering) While also assisting in designing, building out and supporting new capabilities, such as external facing multi-tenancy Digital Engineering toolsets, and enabling rapid, flexible digital systems integration by enhancing our Virtual Integration Workspace (VIW) to support employees, customers, and mission partners in AWS GovCloud. This is a Six (6) Month Temporary, non-benefit role.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of relevant experience in DevOps, SRE or Platform Engineering roles.
  • Proficiency with tools like Terraform, Ansible to automate infrastructure provisioning and management.
  • Proficiency in using Git for version control and collaboration with team members.
  • Knowledge of containerization technologies like Docker and container orchestration tools like Kubernetes.
  • Experience setting up and maintaining Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment pipelines using tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, or Travis CI.
  • Proficiency with version control systems like Git for managing code and configuration.
  • Skills in scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash) and automation through code.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms like AWS or Azure.
  • Knowledge of monitoring tools (e.g., Prometheus) for system and application monitoring.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills, as DevSecOps often involves collaboration between development and operations teams.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills to identify and resolve issues quickly, and the ability to work well under pressure.
  • U.S. Citizenship required. Ability to acquire clearance preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Create, manage, and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools like Terraform to automate the provisioning and configuration of servers, networks, and other resources.
  • Use tools like Ansible to manage and enforce configuration standards across servers and infrastructure components.
  • Build and manage containerized applications using Docker and deploy them via Configuration as Code tools such as Ansible.
  • Support, enhance, and keep current existing CI/CD tools such as: Artifactoy, GitLab, SonarQube, Fortify, Prometheus
  • Set up and configure monitoring tools to track system and application performance, create dashboards, and establish alerting mechanisms for rapid issue detection and resolution.
  • Write scripts and automation code to streamline routine tasks, reducing manual intervention and human error.
  • Implement security best practices, including access control, vulnerability management, and compliance with industry and government regulations such as NIST 800-171 and CMMC.
  • Deploy and manage applications and services in cloud environments such as AWS, AWS GovCloud, Azure, or Azure Government, optimizing resource utilization and cost-effectiveness.
  • Investigate and resolve system and application issues, working closely with development teams to identify and implement solutions.
  • Maintain runbooks and documentation for configurations, processes, and procedures, making it accessible to team members and stakeholders.
  • Provide support to end-users and troubleshoot issues related to the infrastructure and deployment processes.
  • Other duties as assigned.
