Platform Engineer
About The Position
Our client is on a mission to make frontier AI truly open and accessible to all. They believe the best way to develop transformative technology is through open collaboration, cutting-edge research, and radical ownership - and they're looking for a Platform Engineer to help lead that charge. This is a unique opportunity to architect and build the infrastructure powering open-source AI development. You'll work across the stack, with a focus on backend systems and infrastructure, in a fast-moving, research-driven environment. Requirements
- Strong backend experience (Python, Rust, or JS)
- Proven success in 0-to-1 system development
- Cloud fluency (AWS/GCP/Azure), Docker, Kubernetes
- Passion for open-source and collaborative research
- Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills

Responsibilities
- Design and implement scalable platform architecture from scratch
- Build high-performance backend services and APIs (Python, Rust optional)
- Automate infrastructure with modern DevOps tools
- Lead technical decisions and set engineering standards
- Own features end-to-end - from concept to deployment
