About The Position

Oteemo is looking for a driven, hands-on Platform Engineer to help design, automate, and deliver next-generation secure platforms for Department of Defense (DoD) missions. In this role, you’ll architect and manage air-gapped, mission-critical, and compliance-focused environments, leveraging your deep expertise in Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) and Kubernetes automation (preferably RKE2). You’ll play a key role in building and scaling modern, automated infrastructure using tools like Ansible and Jenkins, directly supporting systems that enable the success of national defense and security operations. This is an opportunity to work on cutting-edge DevSecOps initiatives, help shape the technical direction of secure cloud-native ecosystems, and contribute to Oteemo’s mission of driving innovation across the DoD landscape.

Requirements

  • Active DoD security clearance required.
  • 5+ years of experience in Linux systems engineering, infrastructure automation, or DevSecOps.
  • Strong, hands-on experience with RHEL and SELinux configuration, troubleshooting, and hardening.
  • Proven success deploying and maintaining Kubernetes clusters—RKE2 experience is a major plus.
  • Proficiency with Ansible automation for infrastructure provisioning and management.
  • Experience designing and maintaining Jenkins CI/CD pipelines for secure and automated delivery.
  • Familiarity with DoD cybersecurity frameworks, including STIGs, RMF, and ATO processes.
  • Strong understanding of networking fundamentals, container orchestration, and distributed systems.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience implementing Cilium CNI and Rook-Ceph in production Kubernetes environments.
  • Knowledge of GitOps workflows, Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC), and container security scanning tools.
  • Experience working within classified, disconnected, or air-gapped networks.

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and manage highly secure and resilient RHEL environments, including advanced SELinux configurations in air-gapped and classified deployments.
  • Architect, deploy, and automate Kubernetes clusters (preferably RKE2) to support containerized workloads in production and test environments.
  • Develop Ansible playbooks and automation pipelines for provisioning, configuration management, patching, and software deployment.
  • Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines with Jenkins, supporting secure software delivery across controlled environments.
  • Partner with cybersecurity and compliance teams to ensure systems align with DoD standards, including STIG, RMF, and ATO requirements.
  • Troubleshoot complex challenges across infrastructure, networking, storage, and automation layers.
  • Drive continuous improvement and innovation by contributing to automation frameworks, DevSecOps practices, and operational excellence initiatives.
