About The Position

The Platform Engineer is responsible for designing, building, and maintaining internal technology platforms that streamline software development and operations. This role focuses on creating scalable, secure, and efficient platforms that enable developers to deliver applications quickly and reliably. The ideal candidate's experience with infrastructure should be blended with continuous drive for growing automation, performance and security.

Requirements

Strong knowledge of Terraform, Ansible, or similar tools for automating infrastructure provisioning.
Proficiency with AWS services for hosting and scaling platforms.
Experience building and maintaining automated pipelines using tools like GitHub Actions and AWS Code Pipelines.
Exceptional communication skills - both oral and written English
Proven ability to drive outcomes and timelines in complicated technology/business projects.
Excellent interpersonal skills, including demonstrated ability to collaborate with technical, professional, and executive staff.
Excellent analytical, organizational, and leadership skills.
Minimum of 8 years of experience in information technology
Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents.
Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.
Ability to effectively present information to top management.
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.
Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

Nice To Haves

Experience in large enterprise IT organizations.
Experience in manufacturing or a similar industry
Understanding of IT infrastructure, applications, and software development life cycles.

Responsibilities

Design, provision, and manage cloud infrastructure to ensure standardization, security, and supportability.
Work closely with development, infrastructure, and security teams to optimize platform performance and support platform needs.
Create and maintain documentation, guidelines, and training materials for platform usage and best practices.
Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines to ensure efficient and reliable deployments.
Develop automation scripts and tools for infrastructure provisioning and configuration management.
Monitor platform health, including logging, metrics, and alerting systems.
Proactively monitor performance and optimization opportunities.
